only national park. 

Lake Kabetogama is one of four major    lakes with 500-mile long shoreline, 25,000 acres of clean, sparkling water and over 200 public islands. The park contains 218,054 acres, with 134,265 acres of land and 83,789 acres of water. The area's wilderness has forests of pine, birch, and spruce trees, as well as an abundance of wildlife such as white-tail deer, black bears, bald eagles, loons, many species of ducks, osprey, moose and the elusive timber wolf.

The communities of Lake Kabetogama and nearby Ash River offer a range of facilities including dining, resorts,
houseboat rentals, campgrounds, convenience stores, fishing guides, outfitters and marinas. It is a bird and wildlife watching haven with breathtaking scenery in all of the seasons but still close enough to golfing (10 courses within a 90 mile radius), shopping and support services that we all enjoy and need in today’s world.  International Falls is 30 miles to the north on U.S. Highway 53 as is Fort Francis, Ontario, Canada.  Duluth, MN is 150 south.
